The Competency Standards Manual for Pipeline Integrity lists and defines 42 competencies, at various levels. As defined by the Manual, competence is a combination of skills (the ability to perform a task), knowledge (the ability to understand and explain a task), experience (the type, years, supervision committed to obtaining said knowledge), and behavior. To be qualified in a competence means it has been evaluated and assessed.
The competencies and their standards were developed in conjunction with the Competence Club.
The Competence Club is a network that keeps you connected with experts from the pipeline industry.
Joining this exclusive platform will help you leverage your professional growth and structure your career progression. However, most importantly, it will allow you to demonstrate your level of competence.
We offer a variety of self-paced online courses and face-to-face training courses in pipeline operation, inspection, integrity, or risk. These courses have been developed by experts and practitioners in order to ensure up-to-date and relevant content and help you to leverage your competency development and stay on top of the industry needs.
Our renowned subject matter experts assess your individual level of competency in a specific area of expertise. Your competency assessment will then be acknowledged by an independent certifying body. With that, you are able to demonstrate your competence to the industry.
