Ian is a principal consultant at ROSEN (UK). Now in his 40th year in the oil and gas industry, for much of his career Ian has worked on developing technical solutions, such as risk models, that address plant and pipeline integrity issues. Ian joined the industry as an acoustics consultant at British Gas’ Engineering Research Station, following 5 years of research into environmental noise. He studied physics and mathematics at university, followed by postgraduate studies in nuclear structure and cosmic ray physics. He has published papers and written articles on a wide range of topics including traffic noise predictions and a probabilistic approach to the assessment of pipeline corrosion defects.
