What are the course outcomes?

Individuals who successfully complete this program will be able to define, and distinguish between, differing integrity management methods/techniques, particularly pipeline integrity management and systems, and can list the threats to pipeline safety and the consequences of pipeline failure. The individual will also be able to arrange typical integrity management activities under supervision (use risk assessment outputs to develop integrity management plans, manage programs, interpret results).

This pipeline integrity management learning program has been developed to help staff gain this understanding. It is emphasized that this is not a simple training course – it is a learning program which starts with the basics and history of fracture mechanics and takes the individual through the many aspects of the fracture and fatigue assessment of defects in pipelines.
