This learning program will provide you with a good understanding of the management of the many and varied activities pipeline operators must undertake to ensure that releases of transported products (hydrocarbons) do not occur, comprising integrity activities, in accordance with a written plan, within a management control system.
Available 24/7
Estimated 3 months (22 hours of content)
Blended learning
Foundation level
Satisfies the learning requirement for
Pipeline Integrity Management CS014F
Completion certificate and CPD hours
The learning program is aimed at pipeline integrity engineers who are involved with the inspection, assessment, or repair of pipeline defects.
Individuals who successfully complete this program will be able to define, and distinguish between, differing integrity management methods/techniques, particularly pipeline integrity management and systems, and can list the threats to pipeline safety and the consequences of pipeline failure. The individual will also be able to arrange typical integrity management activities under supervision (use risk assessment outputs to develop integrity management plans, manage programs, interpret results).
This pipeline integrity management learning program has been developed to help staff gain this understanding. It is emphasized that this is not a simple training course – it is a learning program which starts with the basics and history of fracture mechanics and takes the individual through the many aspects of the fracture and fatigue assessment of defects in pipelines.
Over the duration of this course, you will develop a good understanding of:
Steve Cromwell is a Chartered Senior Engineer with over 14 years of worldwide project experience in the oil and gas industry. He has extensive knowledge of inline inspection techniques and pipeline defect assessment methods and has developed a significant number of rehabilitation programs for both on and offshore pipelines. He has detailed knowledge of international pipeline codes and standards as well as asset integrity management systems best practice and regulatory trends and has supported a number of clients around the world in developing, implementing and improving their pipeline integrity management system provisions.
