This 8-hour online course provides a comprehensive introduction to pipeline welding, focusing on the critical aspects of both onshore and offshore pipeline construction. Participants will develop a solid understanding of pipe materials, components, and the welding processes and techniques widely employed in the industry. The course offers in-depth guidance on health and safety protocols, welding standards, and the essential steps involved in welding procedure and welder qualification. Additionally, specialized modules on weld quality and non-destructive testing equip participants with the knowledge to identify various weld defects, understand their causes, and evaluate their acceptability using workmanship standards or engineering critical assessments.
Mark is a Chartered EWE/IWE qualified Materials and Welding Engineer with 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industries with significant knowledge of the specification, manufacture, and application of pipeline materials, subsea components, welding technology and pipeline construction. Having experience gained in roles with significant production welding, technical, quality and managerial responsibilities, Mark is able to offer support to clients across a large range of project types including research and development, failure investigation and manufacturing and construction audit activities as well as more specialist topics such as in-service/under pressure welding, multi wire SAW welding and CRA weld cladding.
